Apply for E-Visa

Visit the official Tanzania Immigration e-Visa portal. Fill out the application, upload documents, and pay the fee online well before your trip.

Travel to Tanzania

Fly into Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), or Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) in Zanzibar.

Immigration Clearance

Present your printed E-Visa Grant Notice (or apply for the Visa on Arrival and pay the fee) to the immigration officer.

Required Documents

—Valid Spanish Passport (must be valid for at least 6 months, with at least one blank page)
—Printed E-Visa Grant Notice
—Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
—Yellow Fever Certificate (Mandatory if arriving from an endemic area, highly recommended otherwise)

Important Tips

•The local currency is the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS). US Dollars (printed after 2006) are widely accepted for tours and larger purchases.
•Zanzibar requires all visitors to purchase mandatory inbound travel insurance specifically through the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC).
•Plastic bags are strictly banned in Tanzania; do not pack them in your luggage or carry them into the country.
•Safari Etiquette: Listen to your guide, do not feed or disturb the wildlife, and pack neutral-colored clothing.
•Tipping is customary for safari guides, drivers, and lodge staff. Bring small US Dollar bills for this purpose.

Secure your E-Visa online before departure to avoid long queues, fly directly into Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar, and ensure you have the required Yellow Fever certificate.
